Video Freak is a dense, delirious mélange of vintage sounds, mostly ripped straight from the esoteric VHS collection of USF’s Jason Baxter. Studio bumpers, sports blooper soundtracks, weird adverts and bizarro music cues–everything’s fair game, everything’s freaky. Consider Video Freak a potent-ass nostalgia trip that’s totally worth taking. Writing up a tracklist for this mix would be a nigh-impossible task, but the last track is recognizably “The Nights Will Never Be the Same,” Alfonzo Blackwell’s epic theme song to Baywatch Nights: Season 2. USF’s second full-length record, The Spray, is out now from Circle Into Square on vinyl, CD, and cassette. Trip Fantastic, the comic co-written by Jason with artwork by Derek Charm, will be released this Thursday, November 10th, at Cairo. More details here.
